Legion of Honor Society Initiated

The Legion of Honor Society of the Ohio Kiwanis District Foundation recognizes over 1,400 Kiwanis members in Ohio who have achieved 25 or more years of service. Legion of Honor recognition is given at 25 years of membership and every five years after that. Those who have served in their communities through their Kiwanis membership are invited to join one of our Legion of Honor Society Circles.

Circle of Excellence with a gift of $20 per year of membership
Circle of Leadership with a gift of $10 per year of membership
Circle of Achievement with a gift of $5 per year of membership

An honor pin will be provided to each donor who joins the Legion of Honor Society. Members will be recognized in our annual report, announced at our annual meeting and posted on our website.

The Ohio Kiwanis District Foundation is committed to perpetuating the excellent service projects throughout the district by providing annual grants and scholarships of $40,000 this year. In the last 25 years we have distributed almost $300,000. The gifts of Legion of Honor Society members will enable us to continue to support Kiwanis Clubs in projects such as

  • Safe playgrounds for young children in Delphos, Mt. Vernon, Portsmouth and Wooster
  • Reading and literacy programs in Cleveland, Oxford, Grafton and Greenhills-Forest Park
  • Safety Town programs for children entering kindergarten in Avon Lake and Elyria

We thank these Kiwanians for their service and support of Kiwanis, the greatest service organization in the world and congratulations to them on reaching a milestone in giving back to their community.
